With a whole three days off work since the 4th of July, I’m way overdue for a break. Now that Faith’s out, I’m gonna do just that. I need to fill my creative well, which is bone dry. So I’m outta here, peeps! I’m going to make a dent in my TBR pile, catch up on my TV shows and maybe find something new, watch some movies, enjoy some wind therapy on the motorcycle, play some Xbox, go to the beach, spend time with family, and who knows what else. Whatever I feel like. Maybe a road trip. Definitely lots of sleep. Oh, and … Continue reading

Just when I was starting to feel caught up for the New Year and actually felt productive yesterday, life happened again. Everything that should have been easy yesterday became quite the long, drawn-out process, throwing me way off schedule. And then…I get the call from my son that he’d been in an accident. Something weird happened to me. I’ve completely lost the last two weeks. It was June 12th one moment and now it’s somehow June 26th. Did I enter some kind of time warp? Well, I know where I was most of last week – traveling all over the state for day-job business stuff in Miami then home for a couple hours to pick up Son #2, drive to Orlando, attend UCF orientation and then get him settled into college. Three hotels in 4 nights (only 1 with internet). Three-hour drives in the rain. And come home to Debby flooding us out … Continue reading

How was your long (for you U.S. readers) weekend? Mine was relaxing and a little surreal. You see, I got a big taste of empty nest syndrome. The two college boys (yes, there are two now, ugh) were out of town all last week, making me realize that The Herd (what was once a group of teens always coming and going) is now just The Boy (my youngest, who will be a junior in high school next year). Then said Boy left on Saturday to go to Key West for 10 days with his girlfriend. From Saturday morning to Sunday … Continue reading
