Saturday I’m signing copies of Promise & Purpose at the Barnes & Noble in Naples (Florida, not Italy haha), from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Hopefully some peeps will come in on their way to the beach and pick up a couple of good beach reads. Hehe It’s B&N’s Local Author Event, which I think is really cool of them to do. New. Fresh. Unique. Distinctive. Agents and publishers are always talking about “voice” – that elusive thing we authors must nail in our writing. But what is “voice”? I think there are really two ways to look at it or two parts to the same whole: the author’s voice and the character’s voice. The author’s voice goes with the author, from book to book. Today we head out to the Miami Book Fair International, which doesn’t start until tomorrow, but we have to check in today. It’s a 3-day street fair, open to the public. Lots of authors, publishers and booksellers AND readers! My favorite kind of people. 🙂 Oh, and LOADS of books!!! It’s supposed to be a big one with tons of traffic. I hope so!
