Thanksgiving is next week! Woot! I love turkey day. I love all the cooking, the gathering, the stuffing of mouths and the bellies full of satisfaction afterward. I also love hearing what everyone is thankful for. I’m grateful for so much in my life throughout the year and thank God every day, but I don’t always get a chance to specifically say it aloud to the world. So in celebration of Thanksgiving, each Thursday in November here on the blog I’ll be sharing some things I’m thankful for. This week I am thankful for the material things I have been … Continue reading

This month we celebrate Thanksgiving in the U.S. and I think it might be my favorite holiday of the year. I mean, I love Christmas! I’ve always thought of it as my fave. So in celebration of Thanksgiving, each Thursday in November here on the … Continue reading

Spaghetti Squash Squash half right out of the oven. Fall harvest brings us a multitude of winter squashes, but one of my favorites is spaghetti squash. A lot of people shy away from this one because they don’t know what to do with it. I’ve always taken its name pretty literally and treat it just like I do spaghetti. And just so you know, my kids enjoy it, too, and did even when they were little. Jab fork into flesh and pull up as if stirring to get strands. To prepare spaghetti squash: Cut it in half lengthwise and scoop … Continue reading

To kick off the new Foodie Friday feature, we’re starting with my absolute favorite ingredient. No, it’s not garlic, although that might be a close second. Behold the power of… Cheddar. Brie. Gouda. Muenster. Mozzarella. Provolone. Monterrey Jack. Pepperjack. Colby. Goat. Camembert. Soft. Hard. Pressed. Blue. Any and all, please.  And now I’m drooling just as much as I did yesterday. Is this what heaven looks like? If it weren’t for chocolate and cheese, I swear I’d be at least 20 pounds thinner. I love cheese. All kinds of it. By itself or with just about anything. Isn’t everything better … Continue reading
