Somehow, the calendar shows that it’s already February. February! But, wasn’t New Year’s just last week? I wish, for everyone I know, that we could start the year over. Because, so far, 2013 sucks. Big time. I personally spent most of January in my writing cave, working on The Space Between and starting Soul Savers Book 5, and haven’t really left this month either. Days pass while I huddle in my cocoon, living in different worlds. But I’m not totally out of it, because I just can’t keep myself away from the sparklies and pretties on Facebook and Twitter. Well, usually … Continue reading

Five years ago today, I quit smoking. Sort of. Don’t congratulate me because I can’t really celebrate anything here. There have been times that I’ve been drinking beer with friends and lit up one or two or more. There have been times I’ve bought a pack … and then another … And then I’d cut myself off for months or longer … and then I’d give in again. So no, I can’t say that I haven’t smoked in five years. Nicotine is a nasty addiction and one of the most dangerous drugs out there. Like the other most dangerous drug, … Continue reading

In case you didn’t know, I write fantasy. Since you’re here, you probably read it. We’re all familiar with various mythological creatures and love to imagine that they truly exist. But we know, deep down, they’re just legends. There are two things, however, I’ve heard about for years and the majority of people seem to be convinced that they’re real. They talk about them as if they’re truths and there are even so-called experts who say they can teach you how to experience them yourself. Over the last few days, though, I’ve decided they’re just as mythical as vampires and … Continue reading

Well, I hope that you are all having a marvelous Monday. That is all I have to say today. **Note: I did have a post all written out but my cranky, old laptop knows it’s about to be replaced by a shiny new Mac and apparently developed short-timers disease. You know – that illness that sets in when you know you’re leaving your job (for whatever reason) and you don’t want to do it anymore, although you still have two weeks to put in. Also known as Senioritis to high school seniors. Or perhaps the lappy’s feelings are hurt because … Continue reading

A New Year re-energizes me to focus on priorities, create new habits and try new things. After the chaos of the holidays and the wind-down of the “in-between week” (12/26-1/1), I’m ready to jump back on my horse and take off, either at a gallop on my current path or trotting down a new one…or both. As I do in the in-between week, I evaluated 2010 and made new plans for 2011. So far, though…it’s been a pretty big bust. Already. It’s too soon to call it a fail but, lovelies, it’s nowhere near success. Take my blogs, for example. … Continue reading
